If you’ve stood at the helm of a boat, then you know how quickly your view can be obstructed. Sadly, not all of us are over 6 feet tall, but that doesn’t stop us from venturing out into the sea on our boats. But if your vision becomes impaired, things can turn dangerous very quickly. If you click here, you can see what I mean. In 2009, a U.S. Coast Guard boat slammed into another boat and killed a young boy. This tragedy sparked much concern about just how safe it is to operate a boat.
The American Boat and Yacht Council, ABYC, decided to perform an investigation. As you can see in the video, the boat doesn’t even have to be driven that fast for the driver’s view to become blocked. SeeBoards doesn’t want to ever see a tragic accident like this happen again. That’s why all boaters should invest in our helm pad. With its adjustable height, anyone can use it and feel perfectly comfortable. We love to sail and we want to continue enjoying the open waters and that’s why we’re so dedicated to boating safety.
Coast Guards all across the country are using boats like the one in the video and we can only hope that these boats meet safety requirements. They, and you, should invest in SeeBoards!
